Stop the Panama Government from Destroying Indigenous Villages

leave a comment »

The indigenous Ngabe people of Panama have been gradually pushed off their land until there is nowhere left for them to go. They have been on this land for centuries. Already the Panamanian government dammed up the Changuinola River leading to the complete flooding of a Ngabe community. None of the community was compensated for the loss of their homes, land or crops. The people have had protests and some were arrested and attacked by police. Two died and many were injured.

Now another village, Kia, is at risk of being destroyed. A hydroelectric project called Barro Blanco is underway which will dam up the Tabasara River and put the village of Kia underwater.
You can read more about their plight here: http://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/peopleandpower/2012/03/20123208464402131.html

The Ngabe are trying to negotiate with the Panamanian government but the Minister of Government, Jorge Ricardo Fabrega, has already indicated that “nothing” will stop Barro Blanco.

There also are a list of job titles and company titles if you want to search for jobs in that way. The job section is powered by Simply Hired.  For employers, the cost is $49 for 30 days. Job seekers can search for free.

There are a wide variety of petitions and causes to get involved in. You can search by topic. There are animal issues as well as various human issues from women and children to LGBT. Global warming and global development are major categories. There also is a category for “real food.” Other popular categories are politics, education and civil rights. You’re sure to find at least one cause to champion.

Web Docs Network: A Review

leave a comment »

Update Oct. 30, 2013:

What about the physician consultation service?  The board-certified physician consultation service is legit. It is really easy to get phone or video access to a physician. I used the service twice for medication refills. I rarely get sick so I just didn’t need to use it otherwise. If you just want to do the physician consultation service and not deal with WebDocsNetwork, you can access the physician service called MDLive.com here or call 1-800-335-4836.  To find out more about MDLive.com you can access their frequently asked questions here.

What’s the scoop on WebDocsNetwork as a business opportunity?  I joined before it launched, so I was one of the earliest “consultants.” The most I ever made in a month was around $85. I sponsored two people but they did not stay with WebDocsNetwork.  If you are really interested in the business opportunity, based on my experience, your monthly income will eventually DECREASE until the cost of the service as a consultant, $49.95 per month, is more than the investment income if you do not sponsor people that remain with WebDocsNetwork. You can avoid the $49.95 monthly fee if you sponsor 3 people into WebDocsNetwork business opportunity. I quit the business opportunity as of this date.

More about MDLive, WebDocsNetwork, and telemedicine….

Imagine the next time you are sick, instead of dragging yourself out of bed, getting dressed to go out, then going to the clinic or Emergency Room and waiting hours to be seen….you didn’t have to do any of that. Instead you could be evaluated at home without getting dressed….without even getting out of bed!

Even if you don’t have health insurance, or you have high deductible medical insurance, you will not have to pay a large medical bill.

How is this possible?

With Web Docs Network or MDLive, you contact a physician via your computer or your phone from home. Not just during 9 to 5 hours, either. These physicians are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It doesn’t matter if you’re sick on a Sunday or at midnight, you can still get help from a doctor–without even leaving your house.

You get access to US physicians 24/7 via web-cam or phone  to evaluate non-emergency medical conditions. These doctors can write orders for labs and prescriptions, too… No more dragging yourself to the doctor to wait hours in the waiting room.

But That’s Not All

Want to know more?

WebDocsNetwork.com and MDLive.com are utilizing a part of health care that is cutting edge ie. telemedicine. Telemedicine is defined as the use of telecommunication and information technology (computer webcams, email and phone) to provide medicine at a distance.  Telemedicine has become popular, particularly in rural areas, due to the lack of physicians and hospitals.  A February 2012 article, written by a physician, spotlights how telemedicine can be cost-effective as well as save lives.

Read what  satisfied patients had to say:

I came in today from work. and was not feeling well. Knowing everyone else in the house has been sick the past week I decided I would contact the doctor. Within 15 minutes I had talk to the DR and he had called me in a prescription. Not only did I save a half day going to the doctor and the gas it would have taken to get there I also saved my $30 copay plus got to avoid sitting in the waiting room with a bunch of sick people. I am very thankful to the person who introduced me to webdocs and the wonderful business opportunity they offer.  Tonya G. 6/3/2012

What a GREAT Doctors visit today! Amazing “bedside manner”. FYI the followup support from Dr’s visits are wonderful – they call to make sure your visit was good – can you believe that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Beth H. 5/8/2012

For me, I like telemedicine because it provides an easy, cost-effective way to consult a physician without lengthy wait times, bureaucratic red tape (about what provider or hospital I can go to) or large medical bills.

Kiva.org

One of my favorite causes is Kiva.org. The principle behind this organization is microloans are given to people in impoverished areas of the world  who cannot get large business loans. The loans help these people to build their businesses and get out of poverty. I have been loaning through Kiva.org for several years. I like to loan to single mothers because I think they have it the hardest having to take care of the kids and be the sole bread winner. Every loan I have ever made through this organization has been paid in full. I have loaned all over the world from Asia to South America. Check out this wonderful organization that has made a difference all over the world!
